Compensation

If you purchased or leased a qualified vehicle prior to November 3, 2012, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. has established a comprehensive reimbursement program to help both current and former owners affected by the adjustment in fuel consumption ratings. This program will continue, for as long as you own the affected Hyundai vehicle.

We will compensate you for the difference in the combined fuel consumption rating through a personalized, pre-paid credit card. Compensation is based on the average fuel price in your region and the vehicle’s actual kilometres driven. You will be able to apply for a new pre-paid credit card at any time for as long as you own the vehicle. For convenience, Hyundai recommends owners apply for a new pre-paid credit card annually or every 20,000 km.  If you are a prior owner of an affected vehicle and have already sold your car, you will be reimbursed using the same formula.
